Roy D. McDonnell
Roy McDonnell is a Board Certified Ocularist who started his career with Walter Tillman Sr. in Pittsburgh, PA back in 1980 and finished his apprenticeship under Walter Johnson in Denver, CO. Roy became Board Certified in 1988 and opened his own practice in Albuquerque, NM where he currently resides. He dedicated his service as medical advisory committee chair and served on the ASO board of directors. Not only has Roy had two articles published in the Journal of Ophthalmic Prosthetics, he has given numerous workshops and was one of the original recipients of the Joseph A. LeGrand Memorial Lecture Award. Roy is a loving husband to his wife Kathy who are the proud parents of their two sons. His oldest son Nicholas is a Lawyer in Albuquerque. His other son Andy, who has followed in his footsteps, is now a 2nd generation Board Certified Ocularist.

Roy McDonnell opened Albuquerque Eye Prosthetic's in 1988 and has been fabricating ocular prosthetics for 40+ years. We attribute our reputation to the lasting patient and Doctor relationships we’ve developed throughout the years. We believe that all of our patients deserve the highest level of service, and we are committed to providing just that.

Every single ocular prosthesis we fabricate for our patients is custom made and fit from start to finish. We initially start with an impression of the patients socket or globe to insure the absolute most comfortable fit and cosmetic result possible. We hand paint every prosthetic in front of the patient which allows us to achieve highly realistic depth and color to match appropriately.
